African Safari – Video

brad November 30, 2015 Elephant Camp, Kalahari Desert, Kruger, Okavango Delta, Sabi Sands, Singita, Victoria Falls

Here are some videos we captured across our travels through Botswana (Kalahari, Okavango Delta), Zimbabwe (Elephant Camp, Victoria Falls) and South Africa (Kruger/Singita, Sabi Sands) in many game parks.

We loved everywhere we visited in Africa and we will be back!

ps. Thanks to the Staleys and Houssers for recommending Singita Lodge – a spectacular place and a trip highlight.

I have been following your journey with great admiration and appreciation! I am curious, can you share the ages of your children? This is something I’d like to do with mine (now 3 and 1) at some point, just trying to determine the best age. Thanks!

Hi Shawn! Our kids are 9 and 11. I personally think younger than 8 would possibly make the experience a little less full, and we made a family decision that they would not be best served leaving during high-school… So, our sweet spot was between 9 and 13. It’s the best thing we’ve ever done, so I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for the quick reply, that explanation makes a lot of sense and I agree. We took our 1.5 year old daughter on a 10-week trip through Europe, but have decided to defer any more really meaningful “cultural” trips until they are old enough to enjoy and, more importantly, remember the trip. You are an inspiration, so glad you took the leap!
