Walking though Old Amman:

The Roman theater:

The Citadel (ruins, high above Amman):

Ajloun Castle (they happened to be filming a historical Arab movie while we visited):

Dinner with our friends, Yezan and May Haddedin, in Amman:

Mt. Nebo (where Moses saw the Promised Land and then died):

Saint George’s Cathedral in Madaba:

Petra by candlelight:

Petra by daylight:

Wadi Rum. Watching the Bedouins cook dinner in the “zarb”, camping, riding camels through the desert, touring the desert by Jeep and sand surfing. All in less than 12 hours and all while a Saudi Arabian sandstorm was blowing through:

Swimming in the Dead Sea. You truly float, not like when you expand your belly as much as you can and have to stop breathing to float kind of floating. We mean, you can hardly get your feet to stay under the surface of the water. Amazing! Just don’t put your face or eyes in the water…felts like someone rubbed Tabasco all over us…yikes:

    Hello beautiful Stroh family.

As I sit at my counter on this chilly Saturday morning with a cup of coffee I couldn’t help myself – I had to send a quick note to let you know how proud and jealous I am of your adventures. Watching you travel through the Middle East is just breathtaking. I just can’t wait to open a bottle of wine and sit around a table with you guys and hear all your stories.

Just wanted to send a million hugs and kisses.

    Shalom.

    xoxo,

    Nate

Hi Nate…wish you and Andy (and the babies) were here with us. It is just so beautiful and cultural and has such deep and rich history. Everywhere we walk, we are watching stories of the bible come alive…so surreal. We miss you, Nancy. Let’s plan to get the families together again soon after we get back. Big hugs and kisses, B

Hi Susan…it will definitely be quite a shock to return to reality, but I know we will be happy to be home in about six weeks. Thanks for following along. Off to South Africa today! XO B

Hi Susan (and Scott and Furstmans)! It’s always so fun to hear from you all and to get your notes… and you are correct, it is going to be a challenge to return to life back home. At first we sincerely did think it would be no big deal, but we are realizing just how deep our travel family experiences are and how much we love living from amazing moment to amazing moment, not worried about obligations, or taxes, or meetings, or practices, or plays or life. We’ll do our best to keep the best parts of these experiences alive, but the next phase of life in California is simply the next adventure! Take care. We are off to explore a shanty town in Soweto.
